Matthew Syres Photography, based in the inner west of Sydney, is the photographic studio of commercial and fine art photographer Matthew Syres. I have an obsession for both wide, and shallow focus lenses, which is the main connecting factor in my work. I have a love of colour, strong lines and unusual angles. I'm regularly commissioned to shoot people, nature and landscapes, architecture, products, weddings, bands, theatre & dance... Well you get the idea.
I've worked in many aspects of photography including traditional, digital and large format photographic printing, creative retouching, pre-press work, and editorial, retail, wedding, product and commercial photography. All this experience has given me a broad palette of techniques and skills to draw upon in my work.
Food & Lifestyle Photography
My food and lifestyle projects showcase a casual, naturalistic photographic style predominantly utilises natural illumination and shallow depth of field. These bright, light filled images to create tasty, evocative and attention grabbing photographs of food, cafés, restaurants and other social activities.
Photographic retouching
At our creative photographic retouching studio, we enhance and manipulate images to produce clean, detailed, high quality and realistic results for advertising and creative agencies. We also specialise in product photography and colour grading.
Personal and Fine Art photography
Personal, fine art, and exhibited photographic works, limited edition prints and exhibitions. All fine art prints are for sale and are personally checked, signed, numbered, titled and dated by the artist.
Events photography
Unobtrusive and stylish documentation of the space, people, products, performances and presenters. If it's there, and things are happening, it'll be photographed. Event clients run the gamut from The Human Rights Commission, through ADMA (Association for Data-driven Marketing and Advertising), to the Design Institute of Australia.
Architectural photography
Combining the technical skills, and design sensitivity to create outstanding architectural images to showcase your project, design, or property development in the best possible light literally as well as figuratively.
Corporate photography
Professional group, individual portraits and headshots created for your organisation's staff on-site or in studio. The style is flexible ranging from casual, relaxed and working with available light, through to carefully lit, polished studio photographs.
